The problem with Livejournal(/Dreamwidth :P) is that we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other.
Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.
Then post this in your LJ (only if you want to, obviously) and find out what people don’t know about you.

The Rules
1. You can ONLY answer 'Yes' or 'No'.
2. You are NOT ALLOWED to explain ANYTHING unless someone messages or comments you and asks—and, believe me, the temptation to explain some of these will be overwhelming. Nothing is exactly as it seems.

You all know the drill, right?:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!"
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal. (or in comments, if you don't want to spread the meme around... :P)
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on...

Listening to Margret Throsby, attentive and engaging as always, interview someone with a light Irish accent.

Huh. That's interesting: it used to be acts of service.

"Current state of hotel room:
laptops 2
network switch (working!) 1
ethernet cables stretched precariously across the room 3
ethernet cables we asked the hotel for because we didn't have enough 1
number of power boards not available but needed 1
number of things that we have no idea what they connect to, but were unplugged in the name of keeping batteries charged 1
Also, number of landmark days survived, and enjoyed even 1
It's been pretty good, actually. It like a more indepth version of a school-organised course I did in year 10 called 'Pathways to Excellence', which was all about how our language shapes our world, and about affirmations and positive thinking. This is all about our language shaping our world, fancier affirmations and positive thinking."
Specifically happy-making things:
e_dan turning up to say hi during dinner, and eventually I noticed that he,
mynxii and I were having a conversation while a woman I had been awkwardly talking to earlier was sitting on the other side of the table, quiet and excluded through not being part of our group. I plucked up my courage, smiled at her and said: "Hey, did you want to come over this side of the table?" drawing her into the conversation. I feel proud of myself for a) doing it, and b) it felt natural, and good.
Moment of amusement:
mynxii and I sitting side by side in bed, both on our laptops.
mynxii "I want you to see this, but I don't want to [have to spell out each letter of this url]... oh!" and then sends me a link via gmail chat. <3!

So the day was somewhat blah, but then in the last hour or so,
sarren posts the important parts of the Boston Legal series finale. Spoilers in the post, obviously, but non-spoilery to say that was delightful and charming and well handled. Bravo, and raised glasses to Massachusetts, too. (and to Firefox spell check which confusingly, understood the mess I made of Massachusetts but fails to recognise 'Firefox'. *laughs*)

3. Copy the URL of your favorite photo into this site. (beware, if you, say, half finish your links then hit 'create', it will wipe what you've input when you hit back. Make sure it's ready/save links before you create ;)
4. Then share with the world.

Hee! I saw this a while back and was charmed: You see me in the back of a police car. What was I arrested for?
Also known as: Keep medistracted sane while I slog through selection criteria? *grin*

Huh. Interesting.

How it works:
Go here and keep hitting random quotes until you get five that resonate with you, then post them in your journal.
We are confronted with insurmountable opportunities.
Walt Kelly (1913 - 1973), "Pogo" (comic strip)
If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere.
Frank A. Clark
You have to know how to accept rejection and reject acceptance.
Ray Bradbury (1920 - ), advice to writers
A man is not idle because he is absorbed in thought. There is a visible labor and there is an invisible labor.
Victor Hugo (1802 - 1885)
When a friend is in trouble, don't annoy him by asking if there is any thing you can do. Think up something appropriate and do it.
Edgar Watson Howe (1853 - 1937)
The family is changing not disappearing. We have to broaden our understanding of it, look for the new metaphors.
